Unpaid leave
Are you going on unpaid leave? This means you will temporarily build up less pension or no pension at all.
What should you do?
- Ask your employer what arrangements apply during unpaid leave.
- Your employer will let us know what arrangements you have made. You do not need to contact us yourself.
What else do you need to know?
- Unpaid leave includes for example a sabbatical or study leave. You do not build up pension during this type of leave.
- You will remain insured for partner's pension for a maximum of 18 months during unpaid leave.
- Parental leave, filial leave, adoption leave and additional birth leave are other forms of leave. During the period of your leave, your retirement pension and partner’s pension will continue to accrue as if you were working your original contracted hours.
